NORTH AMERICA’S PROCEDURAL MEDICINE KEY OPINION LEADER
Lorena Cosentino About me

Lorena Cosentino

Executive Vice President, Empire Medical Training

Vice President of Business Development – Latin America

With over 19 years of experience in the medical aesthetics industry, Lorena Cosentino has firmly established herself as a respected leader in aesthetic medicine, training, and business development. She is best known for her role in educating and empowering healthcare practitioners—equipping them with both the clinical skills and business acumen needed to build successful aesthetics practices in today’s competitive market.

Lorena’s journey into aesthetics began while working at a medical spa, where she was inspired by the life-changing impact of cosmetic treatments and the technical precision of the physician she worked alongside. She was particularly influenced by her commitment to formal training and continuous education, which served as a powerful example of how expertise directly translates into exceptional patient care. Though she did not yet realize it, this experience was a clear foreshadowing of her future as a leader in aesthetic education. Motivated by what she observed, Lorena pursued licensure as an aesthetician and earned certifications in electrolysis and cosmetic laser technologies—laying the foundation for her clinical career.

In 2007, Lorena was recruited by Empire Medical Training, a globally recognized leader in aesthetic and procedural medicine education, to serve as a Facial Aesthetics instructor. She quickly emerged as a key figure in the organization, expanding her expertise into sales, marketing, and practice management to better support the growing needs of medical professionals. She traveled extensively across the U.S. and internationally, representing Empire at global aesthetic conferences and collaborating with expert instructors across specialties. Her unique ability to combine clinical knowledge with real-world business insight helped shape the educational experience of thousands of practitioners.

In 2010, Lorena launched VIP Aesthetics, a premier medical spa offering laser treatments, skincare, and injectables. She recognized that to effectively teach others how to run a practice, she needed her own hands-on experience. Her goal was not only to be a top educator but also to help practitioners understand how to launch, operate, and grow a successful aesthetic business. Under her leadership, VIP Aesthetics became one of the most respected medical spas in Florida. As owner and operator, she oversaw every aspect of the business—from marketing and team development to procedure selection and patient care—gaining practical insights she now shares with others through her teaching.

Lorena’s entrepreneurial mindset led her to study business intensively, drawing on the teachings of industry leaders such as Tony Robbins, whose Business Mastery program laid the groundwork for her strategic thinking. She followed tech entrepreneur Dan Martell and sought ongoing insights from experts in marketing, finance, and leadership through books, seminars, and mastermind groups. This diverse education allowed her to translate theory into execution, positioning her as a rare blend of practitioner, entrepreneur, and educator.

Together with her husband, Dr. Stephen Cosentino, Lorena co-founded the American Academy of Procedural Medicine (AAOPM), offering board certifications in Aesthetics, Anti-Aging, Pain Management, and Functional Medicine. The idea stemmed from a vision to provide standardized, high-quality training for healthcare professionals seeking to expand their skills. The concept of integrating business education into medical training was further inspired during their time at Tony Robbins’ Business Mastery in Fiji. Reflecting on that pivotal moment, Lorena shares, "Great medicine starts with great training—and training builds confident providers."

Today, Lorena serves as Executive Vice President of Empire Medical Training and Vice President of Business Development for Latin America. She continues to spearhead the company’s international expansion, bringing Empire’s gold-standard education to Spanish-speaking markets and beyond. Her journey—from practitioner and spa owner to executive leader—demonstrates her commitment to elevating the aesthetics industry through world-class training, mentorship, and innovation.
